Donald A. Romano - Of Counsel
DONALD A. ROMANO received his A.B. from Brown University and his LL.B. from Boston University, where he served on the Editorial Board for the Boston University Law Review. He is admitted to the bars of the State of Rhode Island, the State of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Romano was a National Labor Relations Board Trial Attorney, Supervising Attorney, and Assistant Regional Attorney. He has been with the firm since 1970.
Mr. Romano represents management in labor and employment matters including traditional labor cases, arbitrations, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, wage and hour actions, defense of employment discrimination actions in state and federal agencies and courts, and defense of other claims against employers. He also counsels clients on all aspects of labor and employment law. Mr. Romano has extensive mediation experience and is on the Roster of New Jersey Court-approved Mediators.
A Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Mr. Romano has served as Chapter Editor for the BNA publication, How Arbitration Works, for Supplements to the publication, and as Topic Editor for the BNA publication, Discipline and Discharge in Arbitration. He also has authored articles in various labor law publications and conducted seminars on various labor and employment topics, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and sexual harassment.
Mr. Romano is a member of the Essex County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Labor and Employment Law Section, and the American Bar Association and its Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Labor and Employment Law and Labor and Employment Law Section. In addition, he is a Master of the Sidney Reitman American Inn of Court.
