ELINA CHECHELNITSKY graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2006, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in CPA Accounting and with an academic distinction of the Dean’s Honor Key Award. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in 2009, where she served as a Notes & Articles Editor on the Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law, and as a law advocate in the Securities Arbitration Clinic. In recognition of her dedication to public service, she received The Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, cum laude.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Chechelnitsky clerked for the Honorable Peter J. Walsh in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (2009-2010). While in law school, she worked as an extern in the Tax & Bankruptcy Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department, where she assisted with all phases of litigation in bankruptcy, tax, and state courts. Ms. Chechelnitsky has also spent one year as an associate in the tax practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, advising Fortune 500 clients on a range of state tax issues, and identifying tax minimization opportunities in corporate mergers & acquisitions.

Ms. Chechelnitsky is admitted to the bars of New York and New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a member of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, and is fluent in Russian and Hebrew. Ms. Chechelnitsky concentrates her practice in the area of Bankruptcy.
