Emily A. Cathcart

EMILY A. CATHCART focuses her practice on complex litigation matters, particularly those involving insurance coverage and bad faith claims, professional liability, commercial disputes, fraud, subrogation and recovery, and general liability litigation.  She represents corporate entities and individuals, both as plaintiffs and defendants. 

Ms. Cathcart has litigation and appellate experience in the federal and state courts.  She has handled numerous hearings and arbitrations and has obtained favorable judgments for clients at both the federal and state levels.

Ms. Cathcart also has experience advising and representing corporate and non-profit clients in the areas of business bankruptcy, wind-downs, receiverships, and commercial transactions. 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cathcart served as law clerk to the Honorable Marie E. Lihotz, P.J.A.D., of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. 

Ms. Cathcart received her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law.  She was inducted into the Order of the Coif and awarded the Dorothy Day Award for pro bono service at graduation.  Ms. Cathcart graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in political science and minors in economics and law.

During law school, Ms. Cathcart served as Editor-in-Chief of the Villanova Environmental Law Journal.  Her case note was published in Volume 24 of the Journal.  She also served as a student attorney for Villanova’s Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic and was a fellow with the Walter Lucas Public Interest Fellowship Program.  She was a legal intern for the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Renée M. Bumb of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
