IRENE SHAPIRO is an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department. Ms. Shapiro represents management in litigation involving claims of employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, retaliation, wage and hour violations, constitutional violations and ERISA violations. She represents management in these matters before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, as well as in mediations and arbitrations. Ms. Shapiro also represents management in matters arising from collective bargaining relationships before the National Labor Relations Board and New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission.

Ms. Shapiro received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, cum laude, from Rutgers Business School. She received her Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a member of the Seton Hall Circuit Review. She is admitted to the bars of the states of New Jersey and New York.

Before joining McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney and Carpenter, LLP, Ms. Shapiro served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Garrett E. Brown, Jr., Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Ronald J. Hedges, former Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
