JAMES M. MULVANEY was the co-founding partner of the Firm of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP.   He was a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.  Mr. Mulvaney graduated from Seton Hall University and Seton Hall University School of Law.

He had diverse litigation experience in a variety of areas of the law. He was uniquely qualified in the areas of construction litigation and surety and fidelity bonding. As counsel for numerous major fidelity and surety carriers, Mr. Mulvaney had counseled surety companies and managed the completion of countless complex construction projects in matters involving defaults on bonded construction contracts, and had litigated and arbitrated surety, fidelity, and construction claims as well as reinsurance matters. He had provided numerous insurance company clients with coverage counseling in a wide range of areas, including claim analysis and litigation. In the recent few recent years, he had been primary counsel for Fortune 500 companies involved in contract development and in litigation with respect to landfill closures, heavy highway construction, chemical plant development and construction, housing and commercial development and construction and hospital and school construction.

From 1981 through 1983, and in again 1987, he served as Chairman of the Fidelity and Surety Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.  He was a member of the American Bar Association and has been active in the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, the Insurance Practices Committee and the Fidelity & Surety Committee and is a member of the New York State, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He had been engaged in litigation practice in state and federal courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and in other jurisdictions nationwide.
