Loren L. Pierce - Partner

LOREN L. PIERCE has over 30 years of experience representing businesses from Fortune 500 companies to start-up ventures.  In addition to general commercial litigation, Ms. Pierce’s practice is focused on insurance coverage, health care and employment litigation. She also has experience in environmental, class action, product liability, and fraud litigation.  She has handled litigation involving disputed international matters. As lead attorney on multi-million dollar litigations, she has handled cases in the federal and state courts. She has tried multiple cases to conclusion and argued cases before the appellate courts.  She counsels clients on corporate and commercial matters and has prepared corporate-wide policies relating to compliance, employment and electronic discovery issues. In addition, she counsels not-for-profit entities in all aspects of their businesses and represents them in litigation.

In 2016, Ms. Pierce was named to the inaugural class of "Top Women in Law," by the New Jersey Law Journal. She has also been listed in Best Lawyers® (2006-2019), a Woodward/White, Inc. business, in the area of Insurance Law. Ms. Pierce has been listed in Super Lawyers® (2009-2013, 2017-2019), a Thomson Reuters business, in the areas of Insurance Coverage, Health Care, and Employment Litigation: Defense.  She earned Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Peer Review Rating, its highest level of professional excellence, and has received the Distinguished Service Award from Volunteer Lawyers for Justice®.  From 2014 to 2018, Ms. Pierce was named to "Women Leaders in the Law" by ALM.  In 2015, Ms. Pierce was honored with the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law on behalf of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.

Ms. Pierce serves as a Practice Group Manager for the Litigation & Insurance Services practice group at the Firm.  She is also co-founder of the firm’s Women’s Initiative.  Ms. Pierce has lectured at numerous seminars on various litigation and insurance topics for the New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and other groups. She has published articles on bad-faith litigation.

Ms. Pierce is a graduate of Lafayette College and Seton Hall University School of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. She served as Law Clerk to Judge John A. McLaughlin, Superior Court of New Jersey. Ms. Pierce is admitted to the bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and to their federal district courts and to the bar of the District of Columbia. She is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit and to the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Pierce currently serves as Nominating Committee Co-Chair and previously held positions as Immediate Past President, President, President Elect, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association. Previously, she served as the Association's Co-Chair of Corporate Relations for four years.  She was a member of the Amicus Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is also a member of National Association of Women Lawyers and serves on the Annual Meeting Planning Committee.  Ms. Pierce is a member of the American, New Jersey and District of Columbia Bar Associations, and has become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
