Louis A. Uccello - Partner

LOUIS A. UCCELLO has extensive experience in the area of construction law.  He has successfully represented owners, builders, design professionals, construction managers, general contractors and subcontractors in connection with high-exposure disputes arising out of the construction and renovation of large condominium complexes, apartment buildings, commercial office buildings, prisons, solar farms, schools, restaurants, roadways, and other improvements.  Louis has litigated numerous matters concerning construction defects, construction delays, architectural and engineering errors and omissions, serious construction accidents, catastrophic fires, green energy projects, environmental issues, and contract disputes.  His legal experience and practice also include complex litigation involving serious personal injury and wrongful death matters, negligent security claims, product liability, white collar crimes, and business disputes.  Louis has represented clients of all sizes - from individuals, such as insurance producers and small business owners, to insurance companies, Fortune 500 companies, and other large corporations with global operations.

In 2012, Louis was awarded a Martindale Hubbell®  AV®  Preeminent™ peer review rating, the highest rating available for legal ability and professional ethics, following an extensive and confidential peer review by members of the bar and judiciary.  Louis has been listed in Super Lawyers® Rising Stars (2013-2019), a Thomson Reuters business, in the areas of Construction Litigation: Business and Personal Injury - General: Defense. Louis is a 2004 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law.  During law school, he served as a Public Service Fellow for Central Jersey Legal Services as well as a Law Intern to the Chief Counsel of the State of New York Grievance Committee.   Following law school, he served as a judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Bryan D. Garruto, J.S.C.  Louis completed the Joseph Halpern-David Furman American Inn of Court in 2007.  As a member of the Inn, he engaged in advanced trial advocacy training alongside distinguished attorneys and judges.

Currently, Louis is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (including the Construction Section), the National Association of Fire Investigators, and the New Jersey chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Since graduating from law school, Louis has completed construction-related courses of study.  Additionally, he has obtained training certification recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for having completed courses in “Fall Protection,” “Concrete and Masonry Construction,” and “Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors.”
