Louis A. Uccello - Associate
LOUIS A. UCCELLO is an Associate of the Firm. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the State of New York, and before the U.S. District Court of New Jersey since 2005. In 2009, he was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. In 2012, Mr. Uccello was awarded a Martindale Hubbell® AV® Preeminent™ peer review rating, the highest rating available for legal ability and professional ethics, following an extensive and confidential peer review by members of the bar and judiciary.
Mr. Uccello’s legal experience and practice includes complex litigation involving serious personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, negligent security, and class action matters. He also has extensive experience in construction litigation including the representation of owners, design professionals, and contractors against claims involving construction defects, architectural and engineering errors and omissions, worksite accidents, governmental investigations, and environmental and contamination issues.
Mr. Uccello has represented clients of all sizes - from individuals, such as architects and engineers, to large corporations with global operations. He has enjoyed litigating matters involving complex construction issues (including structural integrity, radon mitigation systems, and solar energy farms); defective and dangerous products (including chemicals, foreign-made factory machinery, and building products); class actions (including matters dealing with telecommunications and exposure to dangerous toxins); and serious personal injury and wrongful death matters (arising from negligent security, construction machinery and vehicles, falls from roofs and scaffolding, and electrocution).
Mr. Uccello completed the Joseph Halpern-David Furman American Inn of Court in 2007. As a member of the Inn, he engaged in advanced trial advocacy training alongside distinguished attorneys and judges from the State of New Jersey. Mr. Uccello has also completed construction-related courses of study, including a course in residential and commercial construction plans and specifications. Additionally, he has obtained training certification recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a part of the United States Department of Labor, for having completed courses in construction worksite “Fall Protection” and “Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors.”
Currently, Mr. Uccello is a member of the Civil Trial and Construction Law sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is also a member of the New Jersey chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a coalition of building industry leaders committed to advancing structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy.
In 2001, Mr. Uccello earned his B.A. degree from Fordham University, where he was a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society. In addition to his B.A., he earned a Certificate in Peace & Justice Studies. In 2004, Mr. Uccello earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a member of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law. During law school, Mr. Uccello served as a public interest Fellow for Central Jersey Legal Services. As a Fellow, he represented indigent clients before the Courts under New Jersey’s student practice rule. Following law school, Mr. Uccello served as a judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Bryan D. Garruto, J.S.C. in the Law Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
