Wendy Kennedy Venoit - Partner

WENDY KENNEDY VENOIT is a partner in the Hartford office of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP where she focuses exclusively on the litigation and arbitration of domestic and international construction disputes, including litigation in state and federal forums and mediation and arbitration before the AAA, JAMS, LCIA, ICDR and ICC. She primarily represents EPC contractors, general contractors and construction managers, but has also represented owners. She is an experienced trial attorney, having handled construction disputes involving claims in excess of $1 billion. She also counsels clients during the course of construction projects, so as to achieve optimal resolutions of claims as they arise and avoid litigation. Wendy also has extensive experience prosecuting and defending complex insurance disputes.

Her experience includes serving as trial counsel in a five-week arbitration before the ICDR, involving a power project in the Virgin Islands; serving as trial counsel in a 25-day arbitration before the AAA involving the refurbishment of a hydroelectric power facility; serving as trial counsel in the prosecution of professional liability insurance claims arising out of the construction of a 40+ story office building in New Jersey; and serving as counsel in two ICC arbitrations arising from the construction of an oil upgrader facility in Venezuela and a petrochemical facility in Lithuania. Wendy's experience further extends to litigating claims arising out of the construction of power, oil and gas projects – both domestically and abroad – before the state and federal courts.
