Our summer program is designed to provide law students with a well-rounded experience both personally and professionally. We have structured the summer program to provide a broad experience that reflects life as an associate at the Firm. Summer associates will learn how to practice law by working with experienced lawyers on complex matters for our clients. Summer associates will attend client meetings, trials, depositions, hearings, and negotiations. In addition to litigation experience, our summer associates are given the opportunity to assist with various complex business transactions.
Like a newly hired associate, summer associates will be assigned a mentor who is available to answer questions and help guide them through the summer program. The summer associate review process is similar to our associate review process. Each summer associate’s work is reviewed and constructive feedback is provided.
A typical week will include professional training and at least one social activity that provides an opportunity to meet and mingle with MDM&C attorneys in a fun and relaxed setting. Trips to different office locations enable our summer associates to experience the Firm's culture. The summer program also includes a variety of activities, such as an evening of jazz, a professional baseball game, a day at the races, and a cooking class. These events help summer associates form long-lasting relationships with one another and professionals at the Firm.
