Immigration

MDM&C provides employers and individuals with full-service legal representation in the area of immigration.  Our experience ranges from multinational corporations and entrepreneurs to athletes, entertainers, heath care professionals, and specialized workers, in a variety of industries, such as hospitals, hotels, universities and businesses ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. 

Our attorneys facilitates the admission of foreign nationals into the United States in a variety of nonimmigrant visa classifications including B-1 business visitors, E-1 treaty trader, E-2 treaty investor, H-1B specialty occupation, H-2B, temporary worker, J-1 business trainee, L-1 international transferee, O-1 extraordinary ability, P artists, athletes and entertainers and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals.  

Additionally, we assist employers with the process of sponsoring foreign national employees for lawful permanent resident status.  Our attorneys have experience filing extraordinary ability alien petitions, multinational executive and managerial petitions and labor certification applications.

We also counsel corporate clients about sanctions relating to the employment of foreign nationals who lack employment authorization, citizenship and document abuse discrimination pursuant to the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and notifications from the Social Security Administration that a Social Security number does match an employee’s name.  The Group also counsels employers in connection with Department of Labor audits and investigations relating to H-1B labor condition applications and Employment Eligibility Verification forms (Form I-9).  With respect to individual clients, the Group prepares family-based lawful permanent resident petitions, K-1 fiancé visas, employment authorization applications, advance parole and reentry permit applications.
