Gary F. Sheldon - Partner

GARY F. SHELDON is a construction attorney who focuses his practice on the representation of construction managers, contractors, subcontractors, owners, design professionals and other construction professionals in a wide variety of transactions and disputes, including construction claims, mechanic's liens, design disputes, contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration, change orders, government compliance, procurement, construction delays, payment and performance bond claims and bid protests. He has successfully prosecuted and defended many high value construction disputes in state and federal courts and arbitration and mediation.  

Mr. Sheldon has represented various construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and owners throughout the east coast resulting in the resolution of complex multi-party construction disputes arising out of the construction of museums, prisons, court houses, hospitals, power plants of many kinds, federal buildings, public and private schools, dormitories, university buildings, waste water treatment plants, government office buildings, roads and bridges, apartment buildings, commercial office buildings, hotels and retail projects of all sizes. He has extensive experience with public procurement including the successful prosecution and defense of numerous public bidding disputes.  He has successfully defended several substantial trade contractor delay and inefficiency claims.

Mr. Sheldon is a panel mediator and arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He is a court appointed fact finder and arbitrator for the Judicial Branch of the State of Connecticut.

Mr. Sheldon sits on the Industry Advisory Council of the Construction Services Division of the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services.  Through his active participation in several construction trade organizations, he has positively impacted the laws that govern the construction industry in Connecticut.  He is Vice President and a founding member of the Connecticut Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America.
