Ghatul Abdul - Associate

GHATUL ABDUL is an Associate with the Firm’s Labor & Employment Group. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2011. Ms. Abdul is a Fulbright Scholarship recipient from Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated with her Juris Doctor Degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in May 2018.

In 2011, Ms. Abdul served as Afghanistan’s Cultural Consultant to Relief International’s Diplomacy and Civil Society Exchange Programs hosted by University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. Further, Ms. Abdul served as Program Director of the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2014-2015. 

In 2013, Ms. Abdul joined Teach For America and, from 2013-2015, taught Literacy and Math in the under-resourced Halifax County public school system in North Carolina.

During law school, Ms. Abdul was a student attorney in the Impact Litigation Clinic at Seton Hall Law School’s Center for Social Justice. In this role, she worked on cases representing indigent clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She was selected to serve as the Center for Social Justice Scholar for her commitment to equality of justice and commitment to good governance. Ms. Abdul served on Seton Hall Law School’s Diverse Applicant’s Selection Committee for the Office of Admission and Enrollment.

Ms. Abdul also served as a legal intern in Newark with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Abdul served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. Gardner, J.S.C., in Superior Court of New Jersey in Essex County. She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey. Ms. Abdul is also fluent in Farsi, Dari, Pashto, and Urdu.
