James  G. Gardner - Partner

JAMES G. GARDNER received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1962 from St. Peter’s College and his Juris Doctorate in 1965 from Fordham University, where he was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards in Labor Law, Civil Procedure and Mortgages and the West Publishing Company Award for Academic Achievement. Mr. Gardner is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He has also been named as a Super Lawyer in New Jersey for 2007.

He litigates all commercial disputes involving contract and equitable matters as well as Uniform Commercial Code disputes primarily related to sales, negotiable instruments, and security interests. Mr. Gardner pursues the interests of creditors in real estate, commercial lease disputes, replevin, and construction actions. He also represents parties in civil litigation involving theft, fraud, and traditional business torts. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Gardner represents clients in alternate dispute resolution proceedings. Prior to concentrating his practice in commercial litigation, Mr. Gardner tried numerous personal injury and product liability matters.

Mr. Gardner is a member of the Essex County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Litigation Section, and the American Bar Association and its Litigation Section. He is a Settlement Judge for the Essex County Lawyers for Civil Justice Program. In addition, Mr. Gardner recently authored "A Primer on Outdoor Advertising Signs" published in the December 2005 issue of New Jersey Lawyer Magazine.
