Michael O'B. Boldt

MICHAEL O'B. BOLDT received his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers-Newark School of Law in 1985, and then served a judicial clerkship with The Honorable Sylvia B. Pressler, P.J.A.D. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey in 1985; and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1998.

Throughout his career, Mr. Boldt has been engaged in the private practice of law, and has conducted employment, commercial, real estate, civil rights, election and corporate litigation in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and in the federal courts of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as employment law counseling and representation to employers in a variety of matters.

Mr. Boldt is a member of the Firm’s Labor and Employment group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of employment law and litigation, commercial litigation, litigation, and trials and appeals. Mr. Boldt is a member of the Essex County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association (Federal Practice and Procedure Section - Chair 1999-2002, Labor & Employment Section - Executive Committee, 2004-present), and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Sidney Reitman Labor and Employment Law American Inn of Court (Barrister, 1994-1996; Bencher 1996-present; Program Committee 1997-2005; Program Committee Chair, 2000-2005; Executive Director, 2005-2007; President, 2007-2013).  In addition, Mr. Boldt was appointed in 2017 as a member of the District Ethics Committee in the District VA vicinage, Essex County – Newark.

  • Defended public safety agencies and officials against a variety of civil rights and discrimination claims;
  • Conducted a broad range of commercial litigation including real estate, election, creditor’s rights, banking and “lender liability” matters.
