John P. Leonard

Overview

JOHN P. LEONARD is a 1987 graduate of the College of St. Rose and of Syracuse University College of Law, where he was awarded a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1990. While in law school, Mr. Leonard served as both the Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and the Syracuse Legislative Research Journal. He also served as Executive Director of the Moot Court Board, and was elected to the Order of Barristers. He was the 1990 recipient of the Ralph E. Kharas award.  Mr. Leonard is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Leonard joined the Firm in 1999 and has extensive trial and appellate experience representing clients in state and federal court proceedings throughout the United States. He practices complex commercial and corporate litigation and specializes in the areas of shareholder and partnership disputes and dissolutions,  health care law, white collar criminal investigations and corporate compliance, securities litigation and all facets of employment matters. Mr. Leonard routinely represents employers in actions involving discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment claims, and advises both individual and corporate clients on general corporate matters and corporate governance.  Mr. Leonard represents clients in multi-district litigations and class actions and acts as outside general counsel for many of his mid-sized corporate clients, involved in everything from health care to technology and real estate development industries, across the nation.
