James D. Ray

JAMES D. RAY focuses his practice on real estate and environmental matters with a particular emphasis on the purchase, sale and leasing of environmentally constrained properties and advising clients on site remediation and related issues. He also has extensive experience in redevelopment matters, including the negotiation of redevelopment agreements and PILOT agreements.

Mr. Ray was in-house counsel and Director of Real Estate & Environmental Affairs for a Fortune 500 company and has served as outside general counsel for several large clients handling a wide breadth of legal issues and transactions.

Mr. Ray has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Environmental Science. He is a graduate cum laude of Seton Hall University School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review.

He was admitted in 1984 to the bars of the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey. From 1984 to 1985, he served as Law Clerk to The Honorable James J. Petrella, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Mr. Ray is a member of the Real Estate Law and Environmental Law Sections of the New Jersey Bar Association.
