Hackers have begun targeting the personal information of recently deceased individuals as part of large-scale identity theft schemes. Therefore, entities that possess the personal identifying information of recently deceased individuals-namely funeral homes, cemeteries, and crematoriums in addition to healthcare provider have become prime targets for sophisticated cyberattacks.
