Peter R. Donatelli

PETER R. DONATELLI is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Warwick, Rhode Island office and is a member of the Construction, Fidelity & Surety Practice Group.

Mr. Donatelli brings a unique combination of legal and construction industry experience to his practice, having represented sureties, contractors, subcontractors, and public entities in a wide range of construction-related matters. His background includes substantial experience in surety law, construction litigation, claims management, contract administration, and dispute resolution.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Donatelli has extensive construction management experience overseeing multiple heavy civil construction projects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He managed all surety-related obligations, including underwriting matters, payment and performance bond claims, and related defense matters.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Donatelli served as a superintendent and project manager for a highway and bridge contractor, gaining firsthand experience in project management, scheduling, contract administration, and construction operations. He later maintained a solo practice focused on construction and surety matters, defending bond claims and subcontractor disputes while prosecuting affirmative delay and impact claims on behalf of prime contractors against public owners.

Drawing on his experience as both a construction professional and attorney, Mr. Donatelli provides practical, business-oriented counsel to clients facing complex construction, surety, and commercial disputes.

Mr. Donatelli earned his B.A. in History from Boston University and his J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
