Joshua D. Glatter

Overview

JOSHUA D. GLATTER is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation & Insurance Services Practice Group. With over 30 years of experience litigating in state and federal courts nationwide, he is adept at all phases of litigation, from initial pre-suit investigation through settlements and appeals.  His experience includes representing individuals and organizations in a broad variety of complex litigation matters, including business torts, internal investigations, fiduciary disputes, breach of contract matters, anti-competition claims, employment disputes, corporate governance claims, real estate matters, and defending and prosecuting class actions.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Glatter practiced at several prominent firms in New York representing both individuals and organizations in both defense and plaintiffs’ side engagements concerning complex, high profile disputes. In 2014 Mr. Glatter served on the trial team of the first case to ever go to trial against a financial institution for violations of the federal Anti-Terrorism Act. Following a six-week jury trial in Brooklyn Federal District Court on liability issues that garnered international media attention, the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiffs, holding the defendant – the Kingdom of Jordan’s largest bank – liable for injuries to U.S. nationals and their families that resulted from 24 attacks attributable to the designated Foreign Terrorist Organization Hamas. Mr. Glatter and his colleagues were subsequently awarded Public Justice’s Trial Lawyers of the Year award.

Mr. Glatter received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994. He received his B.A. degree (with academic distinction certification) in history from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1991. After graduating from law school Mr. Glatter served as a law clerk for the Hon. Tina L. Brozman of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Glatter is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, and Ninth Circuits.
