Jodie L. Ryan

Overview

JODIE L. RYAN concentrates her practice in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, with emphasis on chemical exposure and toxic tort (including asbestos and lead), products liability, premises liability, construction, and personal injury matters.  Ms. Ryan also represents clients in landlord/tenant disputes and commercial collection cases.  She also donates her time and talent to Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County, Inc. ("VLSP") where she represents low income residents who are faced with non-criminal legal issues.  Ms. Ryan has been named to the VLSP's Pro Bono Honor Roll several times.  In regards to her pro bono work, Ms. Ryan has handled numerous name change petitions, in various counties in NY.

Ms. Ryan is also very active with the Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys (GRAWA) where she recently served on the Board of Directors and was President of GRAWA in 2017-2018.  She has also been a member of GRAWA’s Nominations, Mentoring, and Executive Committees.  Since 2016, Ms. Ryan has also served on the Judicial Evaluation Committee and worked with GRAWA to redefine and publish new judicial candidate rating criteria.  Ms. Ryan is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).  In 2019, Ms. Ryan received The Daily Record's Attorney of the Year Award, as she was honored as a Leader in Law.  The award is given to attorneys who demonstrate professional accomplishment, exceptional character, integrity and ethics, and commitment to their clients and the community.
