Paul E. Dwyer

Overview

PAUL E. DWYER is a litigator whose practice focuses upon healthcare, professional malpractice, commercial, and products liability litigation.  For more than two decades, Attorney Dwyer has represented a Fortune 7 pharmacy chain in a variety of roles, including as national counsel and local counsel, defending professional malpractice, products liability, general liability and consumer protection cases.  He represents both corporate and individual healthcare professionals before state regulatory bodies.

Mr. Dwyer regularly counsels clients in establishing Patient Safety Organizations and creating internal Patient Safety Evaluation Systems in accordance with the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act.  He routinely counsels clients on healthcare privilege and confidentiality issues, including representing clients before trial and appellate courts to preserve those protections.

He is also New England regional counsel for several corporate clients in asbestos litigation.  Over the course of his career, Mr. Dwyer has tried numerous products liability personal injury and wrongful death cases on behalf of corporate defendants. Mr. Dwyer has tried medical malpractice, general negligence, contract and environmental damage lawsuits.  He has represented defendants in class actions brought pursuant to ERISA, the Fair Debt Collection Act and state law contract claims. Mr. Dwyer has represented insurers in insurance coverage disputes in federal and state courts and before the Rhode Island Supreme Court.  Mr. Dwyer has served as Regional Coordinating Counsel for a Fortune 200 company involved in products liability litigation throughout the United States.
