Nancy McDonald

Overview

NANCY McDONALD is a 1982 cum laude graduate of Carleton College. In 1988, she was awarded a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Seton Hall University School of Law, where she also served as an editor of the Law Review. Ms. McDonald is admitted to practice in New York and in the state and federal courts of New Jersey.

Ms. McDonald joined McElroy Deutsch in 1991, after a three-year association with McCarter & English where she was involved in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation as well as asbestos and toxic-tort litigation on behalf of various companies. Since joining the Firm, Ms. McDonald has continued her practice in complex, multi-party toxic-tort and mass-tort litigation in state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey, among other states. She manages asbestos litigation on behalf of numerous corporations including  boiler manufacturers, valve manufacturers, electrical component and automotive friction product manufacturers, among others. She also represents product manufacturers and petrochemical companies in toxic-tort litigation involving claims relating to benzene, vinyl chloride, and other chemical exposures. Ms. McDonald has tried numerous asbestos cases to verdict, or to otherwise favorable resolution, in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.  In addition to her experience in the toxic-tort and product-liability areas, Ms. McDonald concentrates in appellate practice and handles commercial and construction-related litigation on behalf of major chemical and buildings products producers.

Ms. McDonald is the author of the Toxic Torts chapter in New Jersey Personal Injury Litigation Practice Guide (LexisNexis Practice Guide Series 2007).   She has lectured to various audiences on toxic-tort-related topics, including trial strategy and tactics, punitive damages, and successor liability issues.
